Jacques and Corbus are actually the same name, just different forms. Corbus is an Afrikaans nickname of the latter part of the name Jacob, Jacobus (pronouned yahk-o-bus); and Jacques is the French form of Jacob, leaving off the ‘bus’ of the Latin Jacobus.
Similarly, the Afrikaans nickname Tiaan is the latter half of the name Christiaan.
Jacques should have said, “I will give up my advantage if everyone else gives up theirs too — and everyone must out loud confess or deny whether they have any type of advantage or not; and if they are caught lying, they should be voted out in the next vote.
