How sad that a contestant felt reduced to throwing in the towel for mental health reasons! Being on a super-competitive show of this kind must lead contestants to question why they’re doing it in the first place and whether cooking can still be satisfying and worthwhile in its own right. IMO the judges (specifically, Jock and Andy) routinely and unnecessarily add to the pressure by their snarky comments and questioning stares to contestants in the middle of their cooks. Maybe this kind of behavior is good for ratings, but I would like to see them dial it back.
