I think the show is trying to promote fake electric fireplaces. Why would you want a fake fireplace with fake logs in it. Ham and Clam deserved to win this.
Because there’s less upkeep than a normal fireplace, less risk of actual fires occuring too within a home or outside. Also, fireplaces are exceptionally dirty, dusty, and smokey when you use them and that all goes into your carpets and ben linen. Most house owners in Aus would prefer an electric fireplace because you get the heat and the aesthetic for a bedroom. In a living area, though, normal fireplaces are still nicer I think. Bedrooms are great for electric ones.
